The week of Spring Break, we joined some of the other seminarian families for a camping trip at Pt. Mugu, a little south of Oxnard. It was a short excursion – we arrived Monday and left Tuesday night, since I had to work early on Wednesday morning. The camping site was near the coast, and we had a beautiful view of the ocean. There were a surprising number of mosquitoes, for being so close to the coast, and we both were eaten alive by the little suckers (apparently our repellent wasn’t working!). It was fun getting to know some of other families, and we enjoyed the fellowship. A big thank you to Mom and Dad Wells for letting us borrow the tent and to Garett and Megan for letting us borrow their camping equipment!

Here are few random moments from everyday life…

Watching the IMAX, 3-D film, Monsters vs. Aliens. Yes, we are goofballs, and proud of it!

A little more sanctified pastime. We have been reading the biography of William Carey in the evenings. Carey, known as The Father of Modern Missions, lived in the 1700′s/1800′s. His life is a testimony to God’s faithfulness and reading this bio has been a source of great encouragement, especially as we anticipate leaving in January for Cambodia.

It’s been pretty cold, so the first time we used our little BBQ was in March.

Some dear girlfriends and I headed out to downtown Pasadena to celebrate SunMi’s birthday and to enjoy the beautiful afternoon. We relished tasty ice cream while basking in the sunny day, and then sipped delicious gourmet tea at the Bird Pick. We managed to squeeze a little shopping in there as well. Good times with the ladies!

Ice cream!

Enjoying the sun: Ruby, Natasha, Priscilla, SunMi and Vanessa
